UNDERSTANDING HYPNOTHERAPY

Hypnotherapy is a therapeutic approach that works with focused attention and the subconscious mind to support insight, regulation, and meaningful change. It is a collaborative process in which you remain aware, in control, and able to engage at your own pace throughout the session.

At Blue Amber, hypnotherapy is used in a trauma-informed and ethical way, always adapted to individual needs, capacity, and readiness. It is never used as a stand‑alone ‘quick fix’, but as part of a considered and supportive therapeutic or coaching process.


HOW HYPNOTHERAPY CAN SUPPORT

Hypnotherapy may be helpful for:
• Anxiety and stress management  
• Emotional regulation and resilience  
• Confidence and self‑esteem  
• Habit and behavioural change  
• Chronic stress, burnout, and nervous system overload  
• Preparing for or supporting change and transitions  

Hypnotherapy works by helping the mind access calmer, more flexible states, allowing you to respond differently to long‑standing patterns.


HOW SESSIONS WORK

Hypnotherapy sessions begin with discussion and grounding to ensure you feel safe, informed, and comfortable. Techniques are explained clearly before being used, and consent is always central to the process.

You remain aware and in control throughout. Hypnosis is not mind control, and you cannot be made to do or say anything against your will. Sessions are paced to suit you, with time for reflection and integration afterwards.


HYPNOTHERAPY WITH TRAUMA & NEURODIVERGENCE

Hypnotherapy at Blue Amber is delivered with careful attention to trauma histories and neurodivergent needs (ADHD / Autism).

This may include:
• Slower pacing and clear structure  
• Choice‑based approaches  
• Grounding and stabilisation techniques 
• Adaptations to reduce overwhelm  

Where hypnotherapy is not appropriate, this will be discussed openly and alternative support offered.


HYPNOTHERAPY ALONGSIDE OTHER SUPPORT

Hypnotherapy may be used:
• Alongside counselling or psychotherapy 
• As part of holistic coaching  
• Within integrative programmes such as the Blue Amber Method  

Suitability is assessed collaboratively to ensure ethical and effective use.
